Does SIZE Really Affect our Performance at Work?

*I opted to use TAGLISH for this blog to show reactions.. hihihi*

Hi Ladies! I went out with friends today and had "meryenda" at Brothers Burger. So there we were chatting and remembering the past "kalokohan" we did at work. I asked them what's new with our company (name will remain unknown for legal purposes!), and my friend said "alam mo ba girl may exercise program to target BMI and weight para sa mga staff sa clinic ngayon, kasi sabi ni (president's name), pag malaki daw unhappy daw and hindi productive sa work." I was like HHUUWAATTT! "Ano hindi ah! whaat! Excuuuussseee me ha!!"  I really could not hide my shock. Not to be the rebel ex-employee but though I'm not a lawyer, I think there's a law against that type of discrmination. Ok calming down now...... There's nothing wrong with wanting the employees to be healthy but saying that being FAT makes a person unhappy and unproductive is seriously seriously a no no.

I think being FAT is NEVER a problem in terms of productivity, talent, and worth. Here's a rundown..

The sexiest woman of all time was
a size 16 during the peak of her career.
OPRAH - Perhaps the most Infuential Person of our time
never seize to help others despite her "weight"

Santa Clause - Let's not forget him! Productivity wise,
I think he has the toughest job of all, and weight never stopped
him from doing his job ALL AROUND THE WORLD! hehehe =)

Now look around your work area, do you think FAT PEOPLE are the only ones unhappy or not productive at all?! Are they the only ones like that or are there some people who are not PLUS SIZE yet they slow down the workforce as well?

Let's all be honest when it comes to productivity in the workforce, weight and size should not be a label. Its all about how we present ourselves and how we push ourselves above the standards. I think these companies should re-evaluate their perception and really look into what makes their employees unproductive and unhappy. Because I'm sure WEIGHT is not it.

Consider Self -Esteem for one. Everyone has it, fat, thin, gay, lesbians, even the "normal" ones! The bosses should realize that a simple praise, gesture of respect and recognition makes an employee feel appreciated thus increasing her self esteem, then her productivity and ending up being happy (at work or home!)

To round it up, I think its just wrong to generalize that just because you're heavy, you're unhappy and not productive and not even your boss nor company has the right to say so! In reality, everybody, despite their weight, is having a hard time at work and personal life sometimes. To get pass this, we should:

* Accept who and what you are. In doing so, what others say will not matter 'coz you know the truth about yourself and you accept it.

* Learn to overcome insecurities and turn it into positive.
* See ourselves as to how God created us, PERFECT HUMAN BEINGS!

Does your Boyfriend Enjoy Shopping?!

Ok! Its no secret that every girl's favorite hobby is SHOPPING!!! Its the all time remedy for stress, depression and crankiness... I don't know what it is about being around shiny stuff that simply brings a smile to my face! But I know now that shopping with the boyfriend is much more fun!

My friends are often shocked on how I get my boyfriend to go shopping with me.Actually ladies its simple, don't let your shopping day be all about you, MAKE IT FUN FOR HIM TOO!

General Rule: Don't be late on your date.

1. Make sure HE knows that its SHOPPING DAY!! Don't shock him with a sudden change of plans on your date.

2. Have fun and dont rush to go around the mall instantly. Take your time chatting with him (so he doesn't get bored!) but at the same time browsing items as well.

3. Once in a while, also stop by HIS TYPE of stores. Entertain his curiosity with gadgets, car accessories and photography stuff. (Depends on his hobby)

4. Take time outs to do something goofy or joke about an item or piece of clothing that you find. Remember to focus on him once in a while.
5. Let him do his own thing from time to time. Like for instance, if he loves photography, let him take pictures. But learn to pull his attention back to shopping..

6. Make shopping day educational too.. hehehe! For example, I enjoy make-up and skin care products, so I usually make chika to my boyfriend about the latest skin care line and which item is good for him and discuss the benefits of each products. But be careful not to be "naggy or whiney" when explaining stuff. You may even find it funny when he starts trying out the testers, I know I do!

7. End the day with a bonding moment over dinner or snack! Hand him this one, let him choose the place and food..

In the end, its all about give and take ladies!

Oh and for my outfit of the day, I wore my red ERZULLIE pants with a basic white top and COACH bag.. Comfy right! =)

ciao ladies!

Fabulous under Pressure!

Hi lovelies! Did you ever find yourself stressing on what to wear for something nervewrecking like a job interview? Some may say " That's easy, put on a corporate attire!" But wouldn't you rather standout among all the other interviewees.

Instead of the usual plain suit or the black and white color theme, put some kick into it.

Splash on some color and style into your outfit, you may find it to be quite relaxing and it boosts up self confidence, knowing that you look fabulous!!

Always keep in mind though that you should NEVER OVER DO it! Ease off the jewellery section and hair accessories. As for the make-up, simplicity and appearing fresh is the key. Keep it professional, comfy and light.

For my recent job interview in Singapore, I wore my ERZULLIE pencil skirt with a white knitted top. I hate wearing pants and blazers so the outfit's perfect for me. I felt confident in it.. Not to appear shallow ladies but, a great outfit really makes me feel great!

Confidence, calm attitude and fabulousity >>> keys to a successful interview (well, for me!) And yes, I did get the job!! yipeee...

ERZULLIE RESORT 2012 (Behind the SCENE)

I did my first Erzullie photoshoot yesterday for their  RESORT 2012 line, it was so much fun!! Nervewrecking, but sooooo much fun... You can actually feel the high spirits and energy as early as 5am!!! hahaha.. Ms. Berna and Ms. Aries did our hair and make-up. It was actually their first time to do it, and we were all like "WHHATT, hindi nga?!" They did a tremendous job..... During the shoot, everyone was so supportive of each other, Ms. Rai was like "Ok ladies, let's do this!" and directing the whole shoot. Ms. Berna would always jump at the opportunity to do some retouch and take BTS shots.. Take a peak lovelies..Enjoy!

Ms. Leigh of BLPE was with us during this shoot. And of course, the ever fabulous ERZULLIE women, who looked fabulous despite being sooo stressed out about the turnout of this photoshoot, a perfect example of grace under pressure.

Fashion Mix and Match =) for the smart shopper fashionista!! Part 1

I love dressing up alot! So its no surprise that shopping is my workout and fabulous clothes is my all time favorite drug... (heaven!) I roll with a tight budget, so I learned to spend on the unique, out-of- this world pieces. I mean really, should we spend a thousand bucks on something that is common?! hmmm.. For me, Fashion is being UNIQUE! With the economy these days, we can still be stylish and fashionable without burning a hole in our pocket!! Now, we all have unique pieces in our closets right! I went through my wardrobe and I found my black harem pants (or princess Jasmin pants as i like to call it) and my gold ruffle skirt..Lovelies, let's MIX AND MATCH! =)

Black/Blue dress & Gold Ruffled skirt by ERZULLIE
Harem pants (G. Gozum)

* Turn a sophisticated dress into a all-night-dance party outfit by pairing it with fun ruffled sexy skirt (left lower pic)or turn it into a whole new ensemble by using it as a top and pairing it with a maxi pantsor harem pants (top left).

The sexy ruffled skirt is not just for dance parties.. pair it up with a simple black top, accessorize with a statement necklace, bracelet and fabulous high heels and your good to go for a romantic dinner date.

Who says sunny and floral dress is only for daytime?! I paired it up with my harem, pulled up until just below the knee to make it look like a skirt, accessorize and voila! a simple and light evening attire. (Floral Dress by ERZULLIE)

So ladies remember, we don't have to spend a lot of buckaross to look fabulous! Search your closet for those classic pieces, mix and match it with something unique and enjoy a whole new OUTFIT! Be creative, be BOLD with fashion!!! mwaah.. =)
